Key Lime Tart


  • 1 pkg. Key Lime seasoning
  • 1/4 C. cornstarch
  • 2/3 C. sugar
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 2 C. milk warmed
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 C. whipped cream
  • 1 9- inch graham cracker crust (Or a homemade pie crust


  • Combine seasoning, cornstarch and salt in top of double boiler. Gradually whisk in warm milk.
  • Whisk together your ingredients.
  • Cook over simmering water, whisking constantly until mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
  • Add in eggs.
  • Lightly beat egg yolk in small bowl. Slowly add 1/4 cup hot milk mixture to egg yolks. Mix well and pour egg yolk mixture back into the double boiler. Cook 5 minutes.
  • Add butter then pour in pie shell.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add butter and stir until butter has melted. Pour into pie shell and chill until set, about 90 minutes.
  • Add lime shavings.
  • Top with whipped topping or frosting and lime shavings.
