Easy Apple Cobbler

Everyone loves apple cobbler. Making one is easy with our recipe from 101 Recipes with Apples cookbook! This dessert is the perfect ending for a family meal or a great dish to share at a party.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. peeled thinly sliced apples, any variety
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar, divided
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. apple juice or water
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • Whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, optional

Instructions

  • Peel and thinly slice four cups of apples. 
  • Place the apple slices in a bowl and add ½ cup of sugar, 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and ½ a cup of apple juice. Stir the ingredients.
  • In a 8″x 8″ lightly greased pan place the apples. 
  • In another bowl mix 1 cup of flour, 2 tsp. of baking powder, ¼ tsp. salt, ¼ tsp. nutmeg and ½ tsp. cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl add ¼ cup of softened butter, ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup of milk. Whisk until creamy.
  • Add the flour mixture. Mix this together and spread over the apples.
  • Bake in a 450 degree oven for 40 minutes.
