“Sweet Kisses” Homemade Fruit Bouquet

One of the best ways to show a special someone how you care is to make a homemade creation for them. What better than a fruit bouquet? A homemade fruit bouquet is less expensive than buying an edible arrangement and it is simple to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole pineapple
  • 25-30 strawberries
  • 8-10 caramel-filled Hershey’s Kisses
  • Heart-shaped metal cookie cutters
  • 30-40 10″ bamboo skewers
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 large vase, ceramic planter or urn

Instructions

  • Start by slicing the pineapple into 3/4 inch to 1 inch thick disks. You should get about 8 pineapple disks to work with.
  • Use your heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut a heart through the middle of each disk. Make sure to get the core of the pineapple in the middle of the cookie cutter.
  • Set the pineapple hearts to the side and place your strawberries onto bamboo skewers. Don’t push the skewer all of the way through or the strawberry will slide down the skewer. Set those aside as well.
  • Cut the lettuce into a shape that will fit snugly into your vase. Using lettuce is an edible alternative to foam.
  • Using the pointy side of the skewer place the pineapple hearts onto bamboo skewers, only push through to the core of the pineapple in the center of the heart.
  • Insert the remaining fruit into the bouquet. For a sweet addition, add your choice of Hershey’s Kisses on bamboo skewers.
