Course: Breakfast
Servings: 22

Ingredients

  • 1 22 count bag frozen dinner rolls
  • 1 (3.5 oz.) box butterscotch pudding mix (NOT INSTANT)
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 to 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces or more, if you prefer
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • In a baking pan, place 1 (22 count) bag Rhodes frozen dinner rolls.
  • Sprinkle 1 (3 1/2 oz.) box butterscotch pudding mix over the rolls. Do NOT use instant pudding. This butterscotch pudding is the secret ingredient for deliciously sweet rolls.
  • Chop 1/2 cup pecan pieces. Use more or less pecans based on your preference. If someone has a nut allergy, don’t worry. These rolls are still caramel-y delicious without any nuts.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans in the pan over the frozen rolls.
  • Melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine in the microwave. Be careful not to let it get too hot. Once butter is melted, stir to dissolve any remaining solid pieces.
  • Add 3/4 to 1 cup brown sugar to the butter.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Drizzle the butter and brown sugar mixture over frozen rolls. Place the frozen rolls in cold oven and let sit overnight. This gives the rolls time to thaw and rise before baking – resulting in light and delicious rolls!
  • In the morning, with the rolls still in the cold oven, set the oven to 325 degrees and bake for 25 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • Remove the pan from the oven. They may not look like much from the top but tip the pan over to allow the rolls to fall out on a serving dish. You’ll see the bottom of the rolls are covered in gooey butterscotch caramel.
  • Allow a few moments to cool. Serve and enjoy!
