Breakfast on a Stick

This outdoor breakfast recipe is called Breakfast on a Stick. As you will see below, the dish is a sausage biscuit served with pancake syrup and is a perfect way to start your outdoor day.

Equipment

  • Sticks
  • Knife
  • Mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of biscuit baking mix
  • 1 Tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/3 Cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 14 oz. pkg. precooked smoked sausage ring
  • Maple syrup to taste

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, stir together baking mix, sugar, milk, egg and vanilla until well blended.
  • Cut the sausage into seven equal pieces.
  • Pierce a stick or skewer through one end of sausage piece and out the other.
  • Dip sausage in the biscuit batter until thoroughly coated.
  • Cook close to embers turning until golden brown and sausage is heated through.
  • Serve with maple syrup to your taste and enjoy.
  • Serve Breakfast on a Stick with syrup

Notes

This recipe is fun for the kids to help make and cook over a fire – but remember to never leave children unsupervised around a campfire.
