Brown Sugar Baked Beans with Bacon

Why settle for plain old baked beans out of the can when you can jazz them up with brown sugar and smoky bacon in just 20 minutes? This recipe is so quick to make that you will be serving it all the time at barbecues and potlucks!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans 29 oz. each good quality baked beans
  • 3 T. brown sugar
  • 4 slices thick cut bacon cooked & chopped
  • 3 T. ketchup
  • 2 T. onion powder or dried minced onion
  • 2 t. mustard powder
  • Fresh black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Chop four strips of cooked bacon. Kristy used the Rada Food Chopper, so it took no time at all to chop it up.
  • Add brown sugar, ketchup, onion, and mustard powder to your container of store-bought baked beans. Mix well and add black pepper if you would like.
  • Pour the mixture into a casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle chopped bacon on top of the baked bean mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
