Carnitas Pizza

Every wonder how to use leftover carnitas? Behold, a delicious pizza with a Mexican twist! This incredible Carnitas Pizza uses fresh salsa and slow-roasted pork to create a dish that’s as tasty as it is bold!

Ingredients

  • 1 12 inch prepared homemade or pre-made pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup salsa or salsa verde
  • 1 to 2 cups carnitas
  • 1 small bunch green onions, sliced diagonally and thin
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced in thin strips
  • 2 cups mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • 1 small bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno, if desired

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place dough on a pizza pan. 
  • Spread salsa in thin layer across the dough.
  • Place 1 to 2 cups carnitas over salsa.
  • Chop 1 red bell pepper into thin strips. Place on carnitas. If desired, do the same for 1 jalapeno, taking care to leave the seeds behind. 
  • Slice 1 small batch green onion diagonally and thin. Sprinkle over pizza.
  • Spread 2 cups shredded cheese such as mozzarella or Monterey Jack over pizza.
  • Slice one small bunch fresh cilantro and sprinkle over pizza.
  • Bake in oven for 15-20 or until edges of crust are golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!
