Chicken Fried Steak

Most people think of breakfast when it comes to chicken fried steak, but also makes a fantastic dinner. This recipe also tells you how to make a hearty, warm gravy that really makes the steak into something special. Serve it in the morning with eggs and hash browns, or later in the day with green beans and mashed potatoes, or whatever you and your family prefer.

Ingredients

  • 4 cube steaks, tenderized and pounded out
  • 1 1/4 C. flour (divided)
  • 1 Tblsp. Seasoning salt try Rada Burger & Fry Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 C. milk
  • 3 T. butter
  • 1 T. chicken base

Instructions

  • Season steaks liberally.
  • Dip steaks into 1 cup flour, coating them.
  • Dip steaks in a bowl with 3 whipped eggs.
  • Cook steaks in a skillet on medium or medium-high until each side is golden brown.
  • Remove steaks. Melt butter in same pan after draining excess oil.
  • Add 1/4 cup flour and whisk.
  • Whisk in milk.
  • Add chicken base, liberal amount of black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Whisk.
  • Pour gravy over steaks. Serve and enjoy!
