Glazed Salmon Recipe with Pesto and Puff Pastry

Prepare this Glazed Salmon with Puff Pastry and Pesto for a lovely meal your friends and family won’t soon forget! This recipe features delicious salmon fillets and tasty puff pastries with an irresistible pesto topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 1 box frozen puff pastry
  • 1 container prepared pesto
  • Fresh basil, cut for garnish
  • 2 tbsp English mustard
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp season salt or seasoning of your preference
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  • Cut 1 box frozen puff pastry dough into small circles.  Place puff pastry pieces on baking sheet.
  • Stir 1 egg to make egg wash. Brush puff pastry pieces with egg wash. 
  • Place puff pastries in pre-heated 400 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons English mustard, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon season salt.
  • Put a small skillet on the stove set to medium-high heat. Season salmon fillets with desired seasoning.
  • Once pan is hot, place fillets inside, fatty side down (where the skin once was). After a moment, pour glaze over salmon fillets.
  • Cook to medium-rare, flipping as necessary. Remove from heat when done.
  • Prepare basil by chopping into thin strips.
  • Cut 1 tomato for garnish.
  • When both salmon and puff pastries are ready, plate them and add prepared pesto to the top. Add basil and tomato as a garnish.
  • Adding pesto to salmon dish.
  • Serve and enjoy!
