What is the French Chef? How does it compare to other knives?

This is a whopper of a knife and is possibly the most-desired knife for any kitchen. What makes it special is the large blade, shaped in a way that allows the user to rock it back and forth for dicing and mincing fresh herbs and vegetables.

What about the quality of Rada blades?

The hand-sharpened, razor-sharp edge of our surgical-quality, T420 high-carbon stainless steel blade ensures the durability of our knives. This specialized construction allows for easy at-home sharpening of smooth blades with Rada’s Quick Edge Knife Sharpener.

Why do I need a French Chef?

Besides looking really impressive while you wield this knife, you’ll rock out food in record time because of its large cutting surface. Got picky eaters? Crush garlic cloves and chop onion and other veggies into tiny pieces so nobody knows they’re there. Turn a bunch of fresh herbs into ribbons to liven up any dish and give it a pop of color. Then turn the knife on its side and use that large, flat surface to transfer your chopped food from cutting board to bowl without dirtying another utensil.

What handle styles are available?

This knife has three handle options. The silver handle is made from permanently cast silver brushed aluminum and has a satin finish. The traditional black handle as well as the black handle of our Anthem Wave Series is constructed from black stainless steel resin. All fit beautifully into any kitchen décor.

What knives do I need?

If you’re just getting started and don’t know what to choose, pick a paring knife, a serrated knife, and either a cook’s knife, cook’s utility, or chef’s knife – you can do a lot with those three. After you’ve mastered these knives, build on your collection.

What is the best way to wash Rada knives and utensils?

Hand washing all fine cutlery is recommended. This prevents microscopic dings on the blades' cutting edge, eliminates the harsh environment created by a dishwasher's high temperatures and abrasive detergents and helps protect your cutlery from corrosion, ultimately extending the life of their finish.
