Hi Kristy in the Rada Kitchen and today I am making Fruit-Flavored Rainbow Popcorn. I’m going to use my home grown popcorn. I have another video that I show you how to pop that on the oven in a pan. You’ll need 8 cups of popped popcorn and any flavor of gelatin in the 3 oz box. I’m going to use lime because it is getting close to St. Patrick’s Day and I think it would be a cute St. Patrick’s Day treat.

Along with your 8 cups of popped popcorn and your choice of gelatin flavor you’ll need a 1/4 cup butter, 3 tablespoons light corn syrup and a 1/2 cup sugar. On medium low heat in a small sauce pan we’re going to add our sugar, butter, and light corn syrup. And we’re going to stir this until the butter melts. Once the butter has melted you add your gelatin. And you stir that until all the gelatin has dissolved. So were going to stir this until it comes to a boil. These Rada Non-Scratch utensils work really well. They have this special end where it helps you scrape the bottom of that pan. If you have to pour into another pan or you’re cooking and stirring it helps prevent that from burning on the bottom, it gets in the corners.

So we brought this to a boil, we’re going to turn our heat to low and we’re going to simmer it for 5 minutes. As soon as the 5 minutes are up, pour it over your popcorn. Do this while it is pretty hot yet, then stir it. And now pour this into a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax paper. We’re going to put this in a 250 degree oven for 12 minutes.

Once your fruity rainbow popcorn is cooled, break it apart and put it in a serving dish and it is ready to serve. It’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any color to match any occasion. That is one of over 125 recipes in our Party Snacks to Share recipe book.
