The Inventor of Nachos!
Nachos actually have a credited inventor! That man is Ignacio Anaya (1894-1975), a Mexican restaurateur. He served them at his restaurant just across the border from Texas. Little did he know the dish would become ubiquitous on both sides of the border!

Hi Kristi at the Rada kitchen, and today I’d like to share a recipe for Chili Rojo Nachos. This uses our Chili Rojo Sauce, and you take a pound of ground chuck, and you brown that.
I’m using the Rada Food Chopper, it’s really a neat way to chop up that meat as you cook it. It makes it nice, fine, really good with these nachos. And with the nachos, you’ll need chips of course, and about two cups of Monterey jack cheese, and about a cup of water to mix with the Rojo Sauce.
And then if you want some garnishments like salsa, guacamole, and some jalapeño slices. So first we’re going to brown our meat in the pan, and once that gets brown we’ll drain off the fat, and then we’ll add our Rojo Sauce.
So the hamburger is browned and I have drained off the grease. Now add one cup of water and a package of the Rada Quick Mix Chili Rojo Sauce. This sauce makes good enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. So combine that well and then bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer it for five minutes.
So once you’ve cooked the hamburger and the Rojo sauce until it thickens up, and now on a baking sheet, I’m going to use the Rada Cooking Sheet, put a layer of tortilla chips, a single layer on the bottom, and then about a fourth of a cup of the meat mixture. Or a fourth of it I guess.
And then sprinkle with cheese. And then another layer of tortilla chips. And a fourth of the meat. And a sprinkle of cheese, and you want to do this until you have four layers of chips, meat, and cheese.
And you’re going to end up cheese last. And now I’m going to put this in a 400 degree oven for about seven to ten minutes or until the cheese is all melted. Then we’ll come back and see how it looks.
Our Chili Rojo Nachos are ready to serve, you can serve them with your favorite garnish, such as guacamole, salsa, or jalapeño slices. You can make this recipe with our Chili Rojo Quick Mix Sauce. There’s a lot more recipes, look it up on our website at www.RadaQuickMixRecipes.com.
