4-Ingredient Hot Cocoa
The days are getting shorter, and here in the Midwest, the temperature is dropping and it’s starting to feel a little more like winter. Luckily, there’s a remedy for cold fingers and shivering body parts—HOMEMADE HOT COCOA!
This recipe is a real winner—it’s made on the stovetop, uses just four simple ingredients, and it makes multiple servings so you can treat your friends (or just have more for yourself). So when you’re hunkering down with the family during Christmas break, make it an epic experience by setting out jars of toppings, stir-ins, and stirrers so everybody can customize their own mug of steaming hot chocolate just the way they like it.

Stovetop Hot Cocoa
INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)
4 C. whole milk
1/4 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 T. sugar
1 C. mini marshmallows
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar, stirring until dissolved.
Add the marshmallows and heat until melted, whisking constantly with Rada’s Handi-Stir. Ladle into mugs and let the fun begin!
STIR-IN & TOPPING IDEAS:
- Cinnamon sticks, cookie wafer sticks, peppermint sticks
- Marshmallows (mini, large, and jumbo)
- Toffee bits, chocolate chips, caramel bits, cinnamon candies
- Whipped cream, sprinkles
