Strawberry Pretzel Dump Cake Video Transcript

Hi, welcome to the Rada Cutlery kitchen, my name is Kristy and I like to bring you recipes that are homemade and easy to make. We offer a variety of recipe books, and today I am making a strawberry pretzel dessert out of our Dump and Bake Cakes recipe book. It’s easy to make, everything’s made in one pan, so you don’t have the extra mess of bowls and other utensils to wash. So if you love the strawberry pretzel salad, you’ll love this dessert.

You’ll need to preheat your oven to 325 degrees, and you’ll need an 8 x 8” pan. I’m going to use the Rada stoneware baker pan, the square one. The first thing you need is an 8 oz. container of whipped cream cheese. You’ll want to use an ungreased baking pan. Take the 8 oz. container of whipped cream cheese and spread that over the bottom of that pan. Now, over this whipped cream cheese we’ll sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sweeten that up a little bit. Then we’re going to take a 21 oz. can of strawberry pie filling and spread that over the top. I’m using this Rada Super Spreader, which works really good for spreading items like this, and to frost cakes, or to get mayo or peanut butter out of the jar.

Our next layer if you can find a 9 oz. package of white cake mix, I couldn’t, so I’m just going to measure this one. A cup is 8 oz. so I’m just going to go a little over a cup. We’re just going to spread this over the strawberries. Then we’re going to sprinkle 2 tablespoons of dry, strawberry gelatin that’s going to give that cake mix a strawberry flavor. Then we’re just going to gently drag a fork through the dry ingredients, trying not to bring up the strawberries.

We’re going to take a half cup of kiwi-strawberry juice and drizzle that over the cake mix. Don’t dump it in, just drizzle it over that cake mix. Then we’re going to stir it gently until it’s partially blended in. Then we’re going to take ¼ cup of cold butter and grate that butter over the top. We need about half a stick. Now we’re going to bake this for 50 to 60 minutes or until lightly brown. Halfway through we’re going to add pretzels to the top.

Halfway through baking we’re going to want to scatter some chopped pretzels over the top. We need about half a cup. This is the Rada Food Chopper, it has little teeth that help chop pretzels, nuts, potatoes, celery, onions, and carrots. No need for a food processor when you have one of these. It’s a really handy tool. As you can say it makes nice, even pieces, and we’ll add those to our dessert.

Our cake has about 30 minutes in. Now we’re going to sprinkle these chopped up pretzels on top, about half a cup. Stick it back in for another 20 to 30 minutes.

So I just took my strawberry pretzel dessert out of the oven, I’m going to let it cool. You want to serve it with whipped topping or ice cream. That’s one of the easy, no-extra-step cakes from our Dump and Bake Cakes recipe book.
