Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe | Homemade Caramel Sauce

Who doesn’t love delicious caramel sauce? With this easy recipe, you can make your own amazing salted caramel! Try it on ice cream, cakes, or whatever fits with caramel.

Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ingredients you will need:

  • 1 C. sugar
  • 4 T. water
  • 2 T. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 C. heavy cream
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/2 t. lemon juice
  • 1/2 t. sea salt

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, and light corn syrup. Cook on medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved, cover the saucepan and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes.

After that, remove the lid, set heat to medium-high, and cook to a boil. Swirl, don’t stir, the pan. This ensures that the caramel doesn’t burn.

Once the caramel turns an amber color, remove from the heat and let stand for 30 seconds.

Pour heavy cream into the mixture. BE CAREFUL! The mixture will bubble and become extremely hot.

Add butter, lemon juice, and salt. Stir until combine.

Allow the caramel time to cool until thick.

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe

Hi, it’s Kristi in the Rada Kitchen, and today I want to show you how to make salted caramel sauce. It’s great on ice cream, and I made a recipe where I used it on a chocolate turtle cake. That’s also on YouTube. Let’s get started!

Combine 1 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons water, and 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup in a large saucepan. Cook on medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved, cover the saucepan and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. Remove the lid, increase the heat to medium-high, and bring to a boil. Don’t stir, but swirl the caramel around the pan so the liquid doesn’t burn.

Continue to cook until the caramel turns an even amber color, and then remove from the heat and let stand for 30 seconds. Pour a half cup of heavy cream into the mixture. Be careful as the mixture will bubble and become extremely hot. Carefully stir the mixture. Add 2 tablespoons of butter, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, and ½ a teaspoon of salt. Stir until combined. Allow the caramel time to cool until thick.
