Cherry Chocolate Kisses Recipe
A surprise in every bite! Cherry Chocolate Kisses are a quick and easy mini cupcake recipe with a wonderful sweet Hershey’s dark chocolate kiss surprise in the middle. This recipe is a part of Rada Cutlery’s Stuffed Cookies and Cupcakes recipe book.
Ingredients you will need:
- 1 (15.25 oz.) pkg. cherry chip cake mix
- Eggs, vegetable oil and water as directed on cake mix package
- Frosting (homemade or purchased)
- Maraschino cherries, drained, optional
- 50 dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
- 50 mini cupcake liners
This recipe is quick and easy to make, because you will start out by mixing up a box of cherry chip cake mix. Follow the directions on the back of the box and you will be ready to go.
Fill up each of the mini cupcake liners about half full and place into a mini cupcake pan.
When you have a full pan, place one Hershey’s kiss in the center of each cupcake. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 8 to 11 minutes.
After they are out of the oven, you can frost the cupcakes and even place a cherry on top of each one!
These cupcakes are sure to be a hit with their sweet surprise on the bottom!

Start Cherry Chocolate Mini Cupcakes Video Transcript
Hi Kristy in the Rada Kitchen and today I want to share a recipe with you that is out of our “Stuffed Cookies and Cupcakes” recipe book. It is Cherry Chocolate Kisses. It is little mini cupcakes and we’re going put a Hershey’s Kiss in the middle so you can surprise that special someone. It would be great for Valentine’s Day or any occasion.
So I just mixed up a box of cherry chip cake mix. I followed the directions on the back of the box: just took oil and water and eggs. Then I’m going to fill these mini cupcake liners a ½ to ¾ full and I’m going to put them in a mini baking pan. You are probably going to get about 50 out of this. So plenty to share.
Now we have our cupcake liners filled. We are going to press a Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Kiss into the center of each one. Meanwhile you’ll want your oven preheated to 350 degrees. Now we’re going to put these in the oven for 8-11 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out clean.
So my Cherry Chocolate Kiss Cupcakes are ready to frost. I’m using the Fluffy White Frosting. I also have a video on how to make that. This party spreader works really well to frost these little mini cupcakes. And here you can see where I cut one in half and it has that little Hershey surprise in there. So you can frost them, put a little cherry on top, and make a great Valentine or Sweetheart treat or any occasion. And that’s one of our recipes in our “Stuffed Cookies and Cupcakes” cookbook.
