Ingredients you will need:

  • 1 C. butter, softened
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 t. vanilla extract
  • 3 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
  • 1 C. powdered sugar
  • 2 T. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup softened butter and 2 cups sugar until fluffy. Add 4 large eggs one at a time, beating after you add each egg. Add and beat 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add 3 cups flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.

Spread ¾’s of the dough into a greased baking pan.

Hi, Kristi in the Rada Cutlery Kitchen, and today I want to show you a recipe for heavenly cherry bars.

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup softened butter and 2 cups sugar until fluffy. Add 4 large eggs one at a time, beating after you add each egg. Add and beat 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add 3 cups flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.

Spread three fourths of the dough into a greased baking pan. Spread with a can of cherry pie filling. Drop remaining dough by teaspoonful’s into the filling. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.

To make the glaze, combine 1 cup confectioner’s sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk. Drizzle the glaze over the bars.
